WHAT
We’re creating a site with articles, interviews, videos, stories, photos, and drawings that educate and give a clear picture of what it was like to put on a concert in the 70’s, 80′, 90’s etc.
The final aim is to have a physical museum, and a foundation to help retired roadies in need.
HOW
This is a society that reflects the call for anyone who would like to share their past, knowledge, or historic experience when it comes to working behind the scenes in live concerts.
See the Submit Content page for more information to contribute. You don’t have to be an experienced writer or interviewer.
We’re also looking for volunteers to help spearhead this project by offering writing, editing, website design, funding, other aspects we haven’t thought of yet to make this a successful non-profit company.
This is the place where any veteran is welcome to say Back in my day!
WHY
In many ways the pioneers of the touring crew aka roadies were cowboys making the impossible happen.
In the early days, the crew guys drove the trucks, worked together in all the departments to make the show happen. No stagehands to help setup.
There were no universities or programs specializing in these fields. So many historic tours and events were made up on the fly.
We’ll be losing these colorful stories and knowledge forever by not documenting this period in time.
WHO
The who (Pun intended :-)) are the folks who join this historical society by sharing their past, knowledge, or historic experience.
